Hi, I'm Liliana

I've been where you are. I faced many challenges such as depression, shame, anxiety and childhood trauma growing up. My faith journey, a community that cared for me and therapy really helped me experience the transformation I needed to be able to help others.

I understand how heavy your heart might feel. You were not meant to walk this life in survival mode. Perhaps, you play an essential role in many people's lives, feel restless, don't know what normal is and want to live a more authentic and meaningful life. You deserve that and I'm here to support you.

How I Do Therapy

I'm a therapist for kids, families and women (love supporting women from all walks of life, such as moms and helping professionals to name a few) who want to work together with me to find solutions that are effective and help heal you from emotional challenges and new transitions. I'm optimistic that each session can provide you with more insight, growth and healing. I've been in what seemed like a long journey of being in the client chair. Although therapy can seem hard at times when processing very triggering memories, I'm so glad I gave it a try and now that I'm well, I'm able to journey with you. That's my hope for you.

For Children

I use different types of play therapy approaches (Adlerian play therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Play Therapy, Client Centered Play Therapy and Theraplay to name a few) using creative ways to resolve challenges that involve creating stories with metaphors, using games, music, artistic activities and toys to better make sense of their world.

For Women

When working with women, I would use a unique combination of approaches depending on what the goals are, including but not limited to Strengths-based, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy and soon-to-be Accelerated Resolution Therapy.

Together we will uncover limited beliefs, process triggers and roots of issues, overcome trauma and learn to live a purposeful and confident life where your values align with your goals and boundaries.

I also offer a Christian approach and can include biblical encouragement and prayer if these are considered valuable to the client.

For Families

In my work with families, we will use creative interventions to build trust, help families identify their goals and work on them one session at a time.

Many clients seek family therapy to improve communication where needs, core values and boundaries of each family member are expressed and understood, to regain trust or to restore a family relationship.

While some families meet with me periodically, most families work with me in a recurrent weekly or biweekly basis.

Past Experience

I had the honor and opportunity to gain experience from a wide variety of organizations: HeadStart Pre-Schools, Outpatient Treatment program (led therapy groups and offered therapy to patients who were treated for their opioid dependence), Youth Group Homes, Nonprofit organization (offered therapy and lead a parenting group) and Group private practice.
